more walking benefit studies

I am reading about the benefits of walking.

There was a 2005 study of those with type 2 diabetes.  Walking 3 miles a day reduced drug costs by $550 and other medical costs by $700 and those requiring insulin dropped by 25%.

Walking reduces the risk of getting type 2 diabetes and the risk reduction depends partly on the speed of the walk.  The faster the walk, the greater the reduction of risk of type 2 diabetes, to nearly half.
