So, this weekend I attended and greatly enjoyed Sakuracon.
At the end of the last day I asked to pose and took photos of two girls of probable school ages.
I have been wondering about inviting kids from schools to go to Sakuracon to pose and play, perhaps as part of some contests.
So, today I go to the local McDonalds. I about to get in line and there are 3 little girls. They have nice smiles and we end up saying hi. I compliment them on their nice smiles. I say, I must get through and get in line behind you, which I do. Then a woman appears with them calmly and I assume she is the mom. I compliment her on the kids being nice and cheerfully greeting.
It turns out that the kids are with teachers and are doing a walking field trip. I asked the kids if they had gone to Sakura con or knew what it was and they did not. But they liked the idea. The kids were of 3rd grade or so and many of them were making one of their first purchases using money.
One girl bought and paid; the next girl bought and paid; the third girl ordered and then learned that they had not brought her funds to pay! I hope things worked out for her.
